I haven’t written a blog in nearly a month! I know, I’m so slack! I’ve had quite a busy last few weeks with lots of friends birthdays etc. so never had the chance to sit down and write.
For the last three weekends i’ve been out, glammed up.. and boy this takes time.
For those of you who don’t really have a routine in getting ready when you go out, you may not understand. But I have to dedicate a big time slot in my “getting ready” time, to do my makeup. So excessive and probably unnecessary, but it’s the only thing I care about when I’m getting ready to go out. I could wear my pjs out to a party but as long as that eyeliner wing is pointed and my cut crease is sharp, I’m all good. Feel me?
My makeup case.. and that’s not even all of it 😐
Anyways! If you haven’t gathered from my blog title, I’m going to show you all my full face must haves! From the primer to the lashes. Personally, these products are all my holy grails, so they may not be your cup of tea and ofcourse I’m still finding new things that I like better. So maybe one day in the future I’ll have to do an updated blog and see what’s changed. Let’s just jump straight into it!
Too Faced Hangover Primer – $46 AUD
My go to primer is this little baby. All my dry skin folks, this is amazing! Super hydrating as it’s infused with coconut water.. and who doesn’t love the smell of coconut?
Benefit the Porefessional – Mini size $20 AUD
This primer is best for those with an oily complexion. Very textured and blurs your pores! It really lives up to its name! If my skin is out of whack and is in quite a combination state, I’ll use the Too Faced primer around my face and the Porefessional on my T-zone for the result I need.
- Estée Lauder Double Wear – $54 AUD
- Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser – $66 AUD
I have been through many, many brands and types of foundation over the years, and although some looked incredible on, they never lasted or they oxidised too much for my skin tone. Nonetheless, something always went wrong. The moment I first picked up the Double Wear, I have never looked back. I’m onto my third bottle now and use this stuff all the time. It stays on your face and does not budge! I’ve had nights where I’ve had it on my face at 4 in the afternoon and it’s still perfect on my skin at 3am the next morning. Any weather conditions (hot, cold, windy) doesn’t move, AND it doesn’t transfer, so you can cuddle up to your boo with no worries 😏👌🏼 I have tested this 😂
For something a little lighter during my working week, I have started to lean towards the Nars Tinted Moisturiser. I had really high hopes for this as I heard many reviews on it. As I tried it, it didn’t wow me (because I’m all about that full coverage life) but it did the job.. and at the end of the day, it’s a tinted mosturiser.. It’s not going to cover everything, but it does even out skin tone and texture.
- NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – $44 AUD
- Too Faced Born this Way Concealer- $40 AUD
My two absolutely favourite concealers, although i’m DYING to try Tarte’s Shape Tape. My NARS concealer is best for my pale skin, when I’m not tanned. This has really great coverage, it’s not too thick but it’s not watery either. The Too Faced concealer is best for when I’m tanned. Not thick at all, quite liquidy, however has really awesome coverage. I would recommend these two any day!
• SETTING POWDERMac Studio Fix Powder Plus – $50 AUDRCMA No Colour Powder – $27 AUD
These products are quite basic in the sense that they’re just powder. Find a setting powder what works for you and run with it. I have lots of love for my MAC and RCMA (For baking under the eyes). However, if you want to find something more affordable than MAC, Australis Fresh and Flawless is a great alternative as well as a powder from the Body Shop.
• CONTOUR AND HIGHLIGHT
Benefit Hoola Bronzer – $51 AUD
Jeffree Star X Manny MUA Eclipse Skin Frost Highlighter – $43 AUD
If I went into detail about how much I love these two products, it probably wouldn’t end. So all I’m going to say is, you need these two products in your life, you will forever be chiseled and glowy. This is a perfect shade of contour for many skin tones, and this highlighter is LIFE!
Too Faced Sweet Heart Bronzer – $44 AUD
For my pale ass face, I need something that’s going to give me life again. This product does just that! It seems quite sheer and glittery, so quite odd for the person who likes matte finishes. However, once applied, it totally blends out to this perfect bronzy glow that I needed to make myself look human, not glittery at all. Thankyou Too Faced 😘
Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe – No longer stocked (limited edition)
This palette was such great value for money! And it also gave you a really bright selection, but nothing wild. It was quite intimidating at first, because purple blush? But as I’ve learnt a lot about makeup and how/when to use it, it really has been a great buy in my kit. Although this certain product is no longer available (at Mecca anyways) they do sell individual blushes in these shades! I own a few individuals for when I’m travelling, so they fit into my makeup bag. These are also really pigmented so make sure to tap your brush before applying!!
- Benefit Gimme Brow – $39 AUD
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade – $32 AUD
I love these two products used together. I fill in 3/4 of my brow with ABH, to fill them in and give them a great shape and then use the Gimme Brow to brush over the hairs at the front of my eyebrow, just so they aren’t too thick and through the rest of my brow to add volume.
Tarte: Tarteist Pro Palette – $83 AUD
MAC Pigment: Kitschmas – $39 AUD
OMG who made these? Because I could kiss them 😂 I own way to many eyeshadow palettes (just ask my boyfriend, he’ll tell you), But my Tarte palette runs a mile passed them all. Buttery, creamy palettes, no fall out and sooooo pigmented. And all a girl can ask for, is for damn eyeshadow to blend out. So thankyou Tarte! As for my MAC pigment this is unbelievable, so pigmented because it’s supposed to be (it’s in the name?) But the colour selection is to die for and Kitschmas is my favourite. Like a warm lavender with a frost finish that gives your eyes such a glam look! I own eyeshadows from ABH, Kylie Cosmetics, Makeup Geek, Too Faced.. you name it. But out of them all, these are my favourites.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills – Water Proof Creme Colour Jet Black – $32 AUD
- Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel – $16.95 AUD
- Tarte Double Take Eyeliner – $33 AUD
- Kat Von D Tattoo Liner – $28 AUD
My two eyeliner gels are used on my water line for a very glam look! especially if I’m doing a smokey eye. The two liners are used in my everyday looks. Practice makes perfect, I recommend starting with an eyeliner that has a thin tip, in which the Tattoo Liner has. Tarte’s felt tip is quite thicker, so if you’re more advanced this is my favourite. I’ve had it for nearly a year now, and it hasn’t dried up or ran out.
- Benefit Roller Lash – $42 AUD
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – $33
My holy grail is the Roller Lash, as it’s not thick and clumpy, provides so much volume to my lashes and gives them such a nice finish. The wand is also great for the lower lashes. Too Faced Better Than Sex is great.. at first. As you start to use it more and more I do find it tends to start going clumpy. However, if you are going to be wearing lashes, I find that this does help add a lot to your lashes for the the falsies to sit on. So I really only use it to help add more volume to my fake lashes or I’ll be very light with it.
Holy Grail Lashes – $12 AUD
It says it already, however these are most definitely my holy grail lashes! They vary from natural looking lashes to full glam lashes, and I wish I owned every style to be honest! As well as lashes, this company makes makeup brushes as well! in which are just as amazing as the eyelashes are. These are super affordable and this brand sells them in large packs at a very reasonable price! These are currently the three styles I have left, so I’ll need to repurchase some more! Who’s with me?!
• LIPSTICK AND LIPLINER
MAC Lipstick “Faux” – $36 AUD
Jeffree Star Lip Ammunition “Celebrity Skin” – approx $24 AUD MAC Lipstick “Velvet Teddy” – $36 AUDKylie Cosmetics Lip Liners – approx $18 AUD each
My three go to lip sticks are ofcourse nude colours! My favourite of the three is Faux by MAC. You can wear these with so many makeup looks and they’re so wearable everyday.
I jumped on the Kylie Cosmetics bandwagon when she released her first three lip kit shades. Hense why I own so many liners! To be completely honest I don’t like the matte liquid lipsticks at all, I don’t like the way they feel and I find they change colour. As for the lip liners, they’re amazing! Very creamy and pigmented for the lips. As she’s progressed in her brand, these now are sold separately, so if you’re in need of a good lip liner, these are very top quality.
TAKE THE DAY OFF
Garner Miscellar Water – $6.99 AUD
Love taking my makeup off with this product before cleansing my skin! It feels just like cool water, but it’s adding some really nice components to your skin. It’s so cheap to not want to buy it!
I did totally forget to get images of my Mac Fix Plus and my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to add to this list! but just know they are on there ☺️
I hope you found this helpful and informative! If you’ve been stuck on products for awhile or you’ve found something you want to try, I would recommend all these products! You get what you pay for! So enjoy shopping 😘😘😘
See you in my next blog xx
